I have been away for a while, but the earth kept spinning in my absence. And there were some prime moments that I failed to mention. Namely, the Council of Fashion Designers of America aka CFDA launched the first annual NYFW/ Men's . It ran through July 13 - 16, 2015, and it featured Spring/ Summer 2016 collections and was held in Manhattan's Skylight Clarkson Sq. It was sponsored by Amazon, Cadillac, Dreamworks Animation amongst other sponsors.

There were multiple fashion designers that participated in the runway shows, from industry titans like Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren, and John Varvartos to newer designers such as David Hart and Carlos Campos. The range of style varied from gender bending adrogynous pieces to the Ultra testosterone Alpha male garments. Overall, it was deemed a success. The theme was less is so

much more. There was less drama backstage because men need less primping and pampering. Less avante guard showstopping from attendees, primarily most of the audience look effortless. Observed mostly were fitted T-shirts, tailored blazers and occasional pair of Yeezys. Many of the shows front rows had the seasoned fashion crowd sprinkled with a few celebrities and athletes here and there, which was much less pomp and circumstance than the standard NYFW. With September's NYFW right around the corner, it is definitley a refreshing to attend a range of shows without all of the hoopla, long-lines and flashing lights....
