When Beyonce performed at Coachella this past April, everyone was mesmerized by her presentation. King Bey gave us life with her legendary performance, which included a live marching band, over-the-top horn section, more than 100 dancers/ singers/ and musicians all performing in sync, to top it all off she brought out Destiny's Child, Solange and Jay-Z, WHOA!!! Her showmanship went back to her Southern black musical roots - both in NOLA and Houston, with the marching band performing like it was halftime at a HBCU. She also championed the upliftment of black womanhood - singing Lift Every Voice and stepping out in regal African attire. Her overall performance was a powerful message of the which displayed her ongoing support for the black rights movement. So it is safe to say her Coachella show was a performance of a lifetime.

All five of her outfits at Coachella were produced by Balmain. Olivier Rousteing, is the French fashion designer and creative director of Balmain was responsible for pulling out the stops for each look. His fashion following aka Balmain army includes all of the industries major models and celebrities - from Jourdan Dunn and Gigi Hadid to Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Watts, and basically everybody from the Kardashian/ Jenner clan. All of Beyonce outfits were military inspired and they all had a deeper purpose and meaning. For instance, during her opening set she wore a cape and a headpiece paying tribute to African queens like Nefertiti. There was so much feedback regarding her outfits at Coachella, it only made sense to do a collaboration with Balmain.

The Beyonce/ Balmain collaboration will launch a three-piece collection, which will debut in the Balmain Paris flagship store July 13. All items will go on sale on balmain.com and beyonce.com the following day. The collection includes yellow and pink sweatshirts Beyoncé wore on stage at Coachella, and it also has a black tee with the same sorority-inspired graphic from Coachella. The proceeds from the collaboration will benefit the United Negro College Fund, following Beyoncé's $100,000 donation to four historically black colleges. I can't think of a better way to give back and show pride for your people and culture. Thank you King Bey & Balmain. I am definitely here for it...
