MKUU FASHION COLLAB - LOUIS VUITTON AND SUPREME

With a new year comes the new announcements of fashion collaborations for men and women alike. The debut of men's Fall/ Winter '17 fashion week in Paris confirmed industry buzz of the collab between LV and Supreme. If you don't know, Supreme is only the leading icon for underground culture and street wear for men whose name has a cult following for its coveted range of tees and footwear. Premiering in NYC in '94, Supreme has collaborated with mainstream brands such as Comme des Garçons, Levi’s and Vans, Of course, Louis Vuitton needs no introduction because they are the legendary luxury brand but new to this new street- lux realm. The history of these two brands wasn't always so pleasant, back in 2000 their association was rather contentious. Supreme was smacked with a cease & desist letter from Louis Vuitton for its LV-inspired logo T-shirts, beanies, and skate decks. As a result, Supreme was forced to issue a recall for the collection,

Fast forward to 2017, this duo displays how the two worlds of street wear and high fashion morphed into power-house titans of the street/luxe scene. The collab is anticipated to debut everything from sneakers, backpacks, messenger bags, fannypacks, cardholders, and wallets in Epi leather to baseball shirts, pants, and jackets in a mashed-up LV x Supreme monogram pattern on chambray and camouflage. The collection is priced in the typical LV range; smaller leather goods will sell for $212 to $318, while bags and backpacks will retail for $1,590 to $3,180. The line is scheduled to roll out in drops starting July 17 at Louis Vuitton stores and potentially at stand alone pop-up shops

This is not the first time a street wear brand has teamed up with a luxury house but perhaps this is the first time that top leaders in their respective arenas have done so. Therefor, you can expect lines around the corner when this merchandise his stores. Fellas you can thank me later....
